We couldn't decide which treat to make this week for Valentine's Day so we made two, Valentine's Day Share-a-Heart and Nun's Beignets.
Both were delicious treats. We made small share-a-heart cookies so we could share them and halved the beignet recipe and ate them all ourselves. This was the first time we made beignets and they were a breeze to make. The only trick we have to figure out is to be sure to cook them long enough so the center isn't raw. The outside browned well before the inside was cooked, but we figured out the trick by the time we fried the second batch.
