Mokonuts' Rye-Cranberry Chocolate Chunk Cookies

I made Mokonuts’ Rye-Cranberry Chocolate Chunk Cookies this week. The rye flour gave these cookies a beautiful consistency. These aren’t your typical chocolate chunk cookies. The poppy seeds add a savory component to the cookies, making them not as sweet as expected. I divided these into two batches one with cranberries and one without. The cranberries definitely help balance out the poppy seed flavor and give them a necessary added sweetness. The consistency of the cookies held up well both ways.

The recipe for these can be found on page 163 of Baking with Dorie, by Dorie Greenspan.

I divided the dough in half because I only put cranberries in half of the cookies.
