This week we made Chocolate Teacup Cakes. They were a perfect Valentine's Day treat.
These were so easy to make. We actually doubled the recipe, and made eight of them. (I think it would be an easy recipe to reduce as well.) This was a perfect time to use the huge 10 oz. piece of fancy bittersweet chocolate we bought at the holiday time that we were saving for the right recipe. I now wish I had bought more than one hunk of chocolate, it was so delicious.
Because they were so simple we were able to whip them up while dinner was cooking and then put them in the oven just before we sat down for dinner. That way they were still warm at dessert time. We stored the extra ones (we can't believe there were a few dinner guests that passed on this delicious treat.) well wrapped at room temperature and microwaved them for 10 seconds when we finished them the next day. This warmed them to a perfect temperature. These were delicious served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
These yummy treats can be found on page 191 of Dorie Greenspan's book, Baking Chez Moi.
